About Reno Jazz Syndicate (RJS)

Founded in 2006, the Reno Jazz Syndicate is a musical community of performers, composers and bandleaders based out of the University of Nevada, Reno. The RJS promotes traditional and progressive jazz and blues, as well as other creative and improvisational musics in and around Reno/Tahoe. Members of the Reno Jazz Syndicate comprise many groups of varying musical styles, in both showcase and casual enviroments, and perform regularly in venues of all sizes. With an emphasis on original material, creative improvisation techniques, and artistic development, members of the the RJS are known as some of the most passionate and most professional musicians in Northern Nevada.

Among our ensembles, are The St. Christopher Project, The Blues Assault, The Reno Jazz Syndicate Orchestra, Run Through the Tape Trio, Rodovia, the Tristan Selzler Trio/Quartet and more!

Our latest creation is the Reno Jazz Syndicate Orchestra, an 18 piece ensemble focusing not only on classic big band traditions, but contemporary and original material as well! This is the most creative and energetic large ensemble in the area!
